Hello,
does anyone know where bank 01 sensor 02 is located on a 2000 Lexus ES300.
The computer code that came up on a hand-held scanner is PO136; bank 01, sensor 02. It's one of the oxygen sensors, but I don't know if this one comes before or after the catalytic converter.
Other codes that came up on the scanner are: 440 (evaporative system problem) ; 441(Evap System purge flow low) and 446 (evaporative vent solenoid problem ).
One dealer told me that a bad O2 sensor could cause 440, 441 and 446 codes to appear, as might a bad gas tank cap.
Can anyone advise?
The other thing is, dealer is asking $330 for a sensor (part only) (I am in Toronto,Canada. They can be found for less online (Bosch universal), but a mechanic is telling me that he does not trust online auto parts and he would only warrant his work if he gets the original part (from a Lexus dealer).
Does anyone have experience with non-dealership parts? Than you.

Do NOT use a Bosch sensor. They do not work well, at all, on Toyota/Lexus.
You can get the sensor from online discount OEM Toyota parts dealers. Make sure if you actually have an O2 sensor, OR an A/F sensor. They are not interchangable.
Also, if you call up the discount OEM parts dealer of your choice, and give them your VIN, they can tell you if it;s an O2 or AF sensor.
