Default Black Pearl Emblems from Ebay

Newbie here.

I have a 97 Es that I am just starting to mod a bit. I am looking at the black pearl emblems on ebay for $70. The dealer wants nearly $400 for them.

Question: if you know about the quality of the ebay items, can you advise?

As long at they are genuine black pearl emblems (there should be a Toyota warranty card that comes with the emblems) then they should be fine.

These are what the real emblems should look like.
I don't recommend painting your emblems because you don't get the clarity from the black-chrome plated lexus emblems.

I've purchased numerous emblems on EBay, never been disappointed. If you have a coach model, I've even seen those emblems. Good Luck

Hmmm. I use to have that color combo. I think it will look a little weird unless you are set on painting the bottom portion the same as the top. If you do, it'll look pretty good....white with black emblems. But if not, I'd say stick with chrome emblems.

The coach edition 2000-2001 ES3s have the black emblems and they look pretty decent of the white cars. But you have to take into consideration that the 00-01 white is not pearly like the 97-99 and it has a silver bumper region rather than the beige-like color.

Also, I think the eBay emblems will be fine. The worst that could happen is peeling, but I can't imagine that peeling will occur for at least like 3-4 winters of like 2-3 seriously inclimate weather exposures.

I am reconsidering the black pearl, since I have decided to go monchrome. Will have the beige removed in several weeks.

Given that, i think the chrome emblems will work better.

Hi Guys,

How long should the genuine Toyota Black Pearl emblems from a dealership last before they start to fade?

Thanks!

oooo do want...

I can't believe the stealership wants $400 for those things. They do look good and all, but wow. I've bought plenty of emblems off ebay and have never been disapointed with them. I'd say its a safe bet to go with ebay and save yourself the $360
