hey guys,
my 94 es300 driver side window is stuck.
motor is working window is only move certain area. but i try to pull off the panel and see whats wrong is it. there is metal is stuck in gear which rolling down/up window.

i took it to the meineke (local auto shop) they estimated $513.00(parts+labor+taxes)). I thought since motor is working, so i just need to change reel or something. but they said i need to change the motor.

my concern is that....
do i really need to change whole part/unit ???
i mean if thats the case....is there any way i can do it cheaper than that?? ex. buying parts from online and take it to auto shop. hopefully they only charge me labor.

i would like to hear your personal experience.
i really need a help on this.

U maybe just need the Window Regulator. When u pull the motor out, make sure it functions well before assuming its good. Through Lexus the Window regulator sub-assembly w/o motor may cost $170 or less, not that expensive but time consuming.
