Default Leak in radiator can get into transmission fluid?? PLease HElp!!!

Hey i noticed that my coolant in the reservoir went from between full and low to bellow low... so then i added some water since i didnt have and coolant... so went to a local mechanic and he said it might a leak in my radiator. The mechanic said that the internal leak is flowing into my transmission, because when he checked my transmission fluid,he noticed signs of sediments of water getting mixed with the transmission fluid... So i have a few questions...
1. Is it possible that the leak can get into the transmission?
2. And if so how urgent is it that i need to replace the radiator? if it is that...
Any help would be highly appreciated...
Thanks

1: The stock tranny cooler is in the bottom of the radiator. I have NEVER heard of this happening, but it;s possible.

IF this is possible, I would not drive the car untill it;s fixed. As well, I'd have the tranny flused at the same time.

It is not common, but I have seen it happen before. Do not drive it until you get it fixed.

How cheap is cheap? And where in NY are you?

And no, do NOT get one from the junkyard. Your asking for trouble. Don;t be ghetto, and do it right hte 1st time.
