Lightbulb Now available - hole plugs

My local dealer just got some plugs to go in the holes that are in the front bumper cover for the licence plate holder.

They are small, high quality, and free. Only downside is they need to be painted.

Thumbs up I Have Been Looking for Those!

Aerodyne,

I took off my front license plate due to putting on a front nose cover (genuine Lexus bra!! ) and have been looking for just such a set of plugs to cover-up those stupid holes. Do you have 2 plugs that you could send me? Let me know and I will shoot ya a PM on where to send them (I live in So Cal too) .

Thanks,

Scott.

You guys in SoCal don't ever have to worry about getting a ticket for no front plate?
I'm in the reverse situation. I'm in SoCal, my car didn't come with the front bracket mounted, and I'm planning to put that on soon.

I don't mind the look of the front license plate as long as a good chrome (or gold) frame is used.
My only complaint is that the color of the bracket isn't color-matched with the car.

i got a double ticket for no front plate!! the other was for parking butt-first. stupid santa monica traffic people. they actually wrote 2 tickets on one occassion. i wonder if lexus will pay for the "no front plate" one cuz there are no holes to put a plate on. i ended up screwing one on from the bottom underside of the car, kinda like a hitch, to get my plate on.

Heh, I got a ticket for not having one on the front too, I'm in NJ though. I put the plate on, and it works out because it covers up the small dent I had in the bumper anyway

Thumbs up

It is a legal requirement to display the front plate in CA.

However, I've got away with it for 12 years on three diffrernt cars so...

I think you will likely get a ticket if you are stopped for something else.

I got the plugs from Keyes in Valencia. I'm sure Keyes in Van Nuys would have them too.

I agree the screws look like crap. That's why I kept asking about the plugs...

CA has had the front license plate requirement for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until more recently that even parking officers can write you up for it now. Before, they'd would add that on (only if they noticed) if they pulled you over for a moving violation. My friend actually lucked out by not having a front license plate when speeding. Instead of giving him a speeding ticket, the cop just wrote him up for no front plate.

So it all really depends on where you plan to be parking. If you frequent Beverly Hills a lot, you're going to get slapped with a 'no front plate' ticket quite often.
Sounds like Santa Monica's parking officers like to write these sort of tickets too.

I used a different approach to removing my vanity plate mount....those things stick out like a sore thumb.

Default So..

How did you get rid of the holes? And how would I go about getting a pair to cover up my holes? I'm currently at uf in Florida and down here there is no requirements for a front plate..
