Just got my 98 es300 and the changer is missing. Also the LCD is out. so... I am thinking an aftermarket stereo is in my future. First, how do I tell if Nak or pioneer? Second, any help with locating trim pieces and wiring plugs to make the install easy? New to Lexus and any info is helpful

My '97 ES300 stereo has the exact same problem with the LCD--Completely black. I really like the factory system (sounds pretty solid), so I think I might just try and fix the LCD. I still have the 6 disc changer in the dash and it says 'Pioneer'. I'm not sure what the stereo is, it just says 'Lexus Premium Sound System'--no brand name.

if its Nak it should say Nakamichi on the faceplate, otherwise its a pioneer.
