Just saw this on auto trader.com. Really clean too. I already got one anyways

^thats what i wished 4 for your body style. u can always make a swap from the Camry or Solara V6, it would'nt be so hard but to change engine/tranny mounts wire harness mods and computer if u have the tranny and related parts for the swap.
I dont think anyone ever done that for the 97-newer ES300 as far as I know...

besides not passing smog... and leaking exhuast... everything is fine lol... i just want one that is actually not swap like i did to mines =P
a few years back.. i did a complete swap 5speed swap... i think i posted on CL a while back.

Trust me I hate cali smog as much as u do. I was living in Moreno Valley back in 2006, couldn't pass smog because of my header on my 94 corolla (OBX header), but I paid extra 4 the inspection station to pass it. I paid 100 so I can get my plates.
It doesnt pass for leaking exhaust? My exhaust is terrible too at this moment. My cat and center pipe flanges ate up from rust. Where does it leak from? So its still running good?

yeah my car still runs good. just have a leak in the rear exhaust manifold. i know that gotta be it because i saw condensation built up on the block beneath the manifold. plus, my y pipe is bad...new gasket on y, and manifold and still leak.. possibility that the y pipe and manifold is cracked.
yeah cali smog sucks... right now i'm driving my other car... (2000 ES)...
while my 5spd is sitting in the garage collecting dust

That sucks man, At least while ur driving your 2k ES, u can work on your 2ES 5 speed on your spare time fixing the little details and take out the exhaust manifolds and y pipe. U may be lucky that its just the y pipe section is cracked but not too sure about the manifold part. In other words u can take it to a muffler shop while the part is out and it'll be cheaper to fix. Better than taking the car and get it fixed where theres not enough room to weld it right.
In my case which now brings me to a concern is that i also need exhaust work. The cat from dealer is 580 and center pipe is 230 plus a few more bucks for gaskets and bolts, and maybe my exhaust manifold on the rear too. Exhaust gets really expensive 4 these cars =(...
