Hey yall,
My buddy just got his 03 ES broken into on Monday night. Apparently the person used a screw driver to pry in between the weather strip lip on the drivers side, slammed forward twice to break and push through the glass.
Now the question here is: does our Lexus' security alarms not go off when windows are busted or only when the locks, doors, or handles are messed with? I can't remember the type of glass we all have on our Lexus', but its the kind that doesn't shatter like a window on a house, but instead falls into pieces and only sounds like marbles hitting the ground. This combined with no alarm going off = my buddy not hearing a thing. Thanks in advance,
JM

all cars now days have glass like that.. may be for last 20 years? not just lexus. lol.
i think factory alarm doesn't have appropriate sensors to detect glass breakage, but i may be wrong.. and i am not going to test it on my car. haha
so what did they take anything? does he have a factory navi? i wonder what attracted the thieves..

And, nowhere did I say that it was only standard on our Lexus. Because I didn't know the name, I referenced our cars so that people might catch on easier.
Lastly, for the record, it's called "tempered" glass.

EDIT: GPS, iPod, satellite radio, cologne - my guess, crackhead.
