Hi guys,
Quick question here wondering if you could give me some insight.
I recently rebuilt my starter on my 97 ES300 with the Toyota repair kit, car starts perfectly now, no issues. But ever since then my shifts have become alot firmer, feels like I am missing a trans mount or something. Any ideas on why this could be?
Thanks for any insight

The CEL is not on? I would check to make sure the cel bulb not burned out. One possibility is that you knocked a connector for one of the transmission speed sensors ( there should be two ). That would cause a significant change in shift points, but it would also turn on the check engine light.

Not sure on the kick down cable
As far as the speed sensor goes, my CEL has been on for a while due to cat converters ( long story, replaced many parts and just won't go away), maybe it is now sending a code for that as well. I will have to go get it scanned and take a look. Shift points are still the same, trans still functions normally as it did, it's just the shifts are harder now.
