HELP! My radio went black!
Hey im new to the group and I have a 1997 lexus es 300 which I love to death. It runs great but my radio is black. I went to the dealer and they said To just replace it but thats too expensive for me right now...Do any of you have any suggestions on what to do??? Even though the screen in black the factory radio still gives me excellent performence oh and also my clock wont work how do i fix that????

Replace two fuses that are located to the left of your steering wheel behind a little pull out storage box. One fuse is 7.5amp and the other is 15amp. Look on the back of the panel you removed to expose the fuse box to see the correct locations. One says radio and the other says Cig (for cigarette lighter) this one will fix your clock I believe.

It sounds like your LCD went bad. My '97 has the same problem...I've just learned to deal with it. It's about $300 for a new radio or $100 for a new LCD and a lot of hassle to dismantle the old radio and install it.
