So it starts to downpour earlier today. I turn on the windshield wipers and they start banging. Usually when you keep them on, they return to a few inches higher than when in their off position. Now they are going completely down and banging on whatever they rest on when in the off position.
Any ideas? I have heard of a wiper switch going, and if this is the case, where is it on the car and wheres the best place to find a replacement?
Thanks in advance.

Look in your owner's manual under 'windshieled wipers'. There's a reversible plug on the firewall that gives you a 'winter' setting, where the wipers 'park' higher in the off position to prevent damage from them beating against snow and ice.(not in Orlando, though). The right way is to take the arms off the spindles and move them a notch or two away from the stops.
