Hi, I am new to CL and have been learning a lot reading the posts. I have a 2005 ES330 with an intermittent driver side power mirror problem. When the mirror switch is not in the center position (set to left or right mirror), during reverse, the side mirrors tilt down, as they are supposed, to to help me follow the parking stall lines as I back out. However, the driver side mirror sometimes doesn't tilt back up to the normal position when I go from R to D. So I have to put the gear back to P and then it resets or I have to manually move it on the mirror control and then I hit the #1 memory position and then it goes back to the my driver's side setting. This has been an intermittent problem during the last month or so. Anyone have a clue why this is happening? Is the mirror motor about to go??? Any advice is appreciated.

This happened to my car years ago on my 05. Lexus replaced the entire mirror. it would stall when coming into the up position from Reverse to Drive. Its doing it again, but I'm out of warranty. So I'm going to have to tackle the issue myself

Thanks for the replies. In case the mirror stops working someday, out of curiosity, I checked on Ebay for a drivers side power mirror and housing. They are going for about $100 plus shipping. My 2005 ES330 is out of warranty so I'd do the repair myself IF I had to. I would need to take the door panel off to remove the whole driver side mirror housing right?

i'm going to try to take the actually mirror off and see if something inside the housing is obstructing it. because it jitters a bit in a certain position when im trying to adjust it to0, which is what happened last time when they replaced the entire housing and mirror
