94 ES300 CV axle replacement question
My girlfriend's ES300 had the outer CV boots torn on both wheels at the hub end of the CV axle. The passenger side bearing actually came apart so I had to replace it. I just replaced the entire half shaft with both bearing/boot assemblies, up to the axle going into the transmission. I did not pull the axle out of the transmission.
My question is, when I went to install the half shaft at the transmission side bearing/boot assembly with the six hex bolts, the manual and the axle instructions indicated that I should line up markers on the boot/bearing assembly with a marker on the trans axle flange (I guess you might call it a flange?). I was unable to find a marker on the trans axle flange, so I just bolted the six bolts up where they were. Will there be any problems with this? Is it supposed to be weighted for balance or something? I didn't notice any vibration or anything, should I go back and try to find it and re-install? I still have to do the driver's side before it goes, just want to make sure this is or is not critical before I proceed, and before she drives it too much.
Thanks for any help.
