Default 2003 ES300 - Fuel Pump Causing Stall at Light?

Folks,

My car's stalling again. However, I noticed a cycle and my car only stalls when I come to a stop sign/light after I've completely filled the fuel tank. The car starts up fine all the time. I can somewhat prevent the stall if I put it in neutral and keep the rpm's up while coming to stop. Can this be a problem with the fuel pump?

Someone else told me that it was the throttle body needs replacing.

Any opinions?

Thanks,

Throttle body needs "replacing"? If that was a shop, never go there.

I was thinking the throttle body jsut needs a cleaning/idle screw adjustment. Possibly an IAC (Idle Air Control) valve.

As for the fuel pump, I'd "think" (not 100% sure), that the more gas, the less it would stall, not the opposite.

How many miles on the car?

I agree on the gas part. It doesn't make any sense. When the gas is about half way, I don't think I ever has the stalling problem as I'm coming to a stop.

BTW, I don't think there's an IAC valve for this car because it has an electronic throttle system.

^ Ah, yes. You may be right on the IAC part. I've not dealt with that year much. I'll have to ask my dealer tomorrow about this if no one else has an answer.

Thanks, ASG14.

I haven't had the stalling issue lately since I only fill my tank up 3/4 of the way. Sometimes it feels like it's going to stall but it doesn't. Eventually I might just have to get it diagnosed by a Lexus service center if I don't find out what the problem is.
