My wifes 2000 ES 300 is just coming up on 88k miles and is in need of some ft suspension work.
The rubber circular gasket that sits under the spring and on top of the spring perch is torn on both sides, allowing metal on metal contact. I'm wondering if I should just go for the defective parts at the perch or go for the spring seat and strut mount too? The top end of the struts look good but the mileage is creeping up and I'll be having the struts out for the lower repair.
I don't have much experience with Lexus struts but the hardware and mounting is close enough to what I'm use to. Does the upper strut hardware last far beyond the mileage I stated or am I there or close or what? Are the parts strictly OEM or are there any AM quality parts available that any one else has used?
I'm also getting some wheel movement on the drivers side front with my hands at 12 and six I get enough to feel it continuously. I don't remember if that indicates a ball joint or control arm, the ball joint boot is in tact but if someone could refresh my memory I'd be much obliged.
Thanks for any help or advice that any one might have..
