Amp? 2002 ES 300
Hello all,
I have been a lurker for some time now and I have decided to reach out to Club Lexus Members.
So here is my issue
I have a 2002 Es300 with aprox 150 000 KM. For the most part it has been a good car. Recently my radio (Mark Levinson) will not produce any sound for about 30 min. After that it will kick on. (My drive to work is 28 Min)
I have also noticed that since the weather has started to get colder this has been happing more often. And many times when I start the car after sitting for more then 14 hours the battery is dead.
After reading many fourms like this one I starting wondering if the amp was drawing power when the car is off. So I began to unplug the amp every night and plug it in every morning. By doing this I dont have to Jump start the car every morning and my Radio works most of the time.
So my question to you all is can I install an aftermarket Amp without major rewiring or disturbing any other applications that that amp may be controling.

from what i know and from installing a pioneer avic-d3 into my 05es330, an aftermarket amp might not be easy. first off, the stock head unit uses a "bus" system. its not your typical 12v amp. it works on a digital feed. secondly you prolly need a 5 or 7 channel amp, not cheap nor easy to find
