Hello All-
My dad is interested in buying the new ES after test driving it. He was curious how much over invoice or below MSRP he can expect to spend (not interested in ML stereo or Navi, but the prem. plus package). The dealer told him that the best he could do was 1,000 under MSRP, but had 4 cars on the lot. Is this a good deal?
thanks!

I got mine in Jan for 32998, Cash deal, internet sales.
I think this was $1500 under MSRP.
Of course, you should not deal this way. start at the INVOICE, less HOLDBACK, etc. and work your way up.
If you are serious, go here:

Depending on your location and how "hot" the ES300 is in your area, you should be able to get it for $500 above invoice. My understanding is the new 2002 ES300 is not selling too well due to lack of power and front end too similar to Camry's which means you should be able to get a decent deal. My niece got hers for that amount in a smaller town just outside Cinn, OH but did require a bit of negotiation. Don't be afraid to get it from out of town since the car can be serviced anywhere. Use the internet to do the legwork for you. Good luck!
