oh its easy, when your name is maramba! sounds like a type of dance, so you can just dance your way through ripping off the intake manifold. especially in new jersey where it's so cold , you're gonna need to keep your body moving soon.... according to wattsupwiththat.com preidction for the northeast this winter.
you need to have a working knock sensor, so i dont see how you can say 'not recommended' unless you just mean you dont recommend doing it in a driveway yourself, but instead should take it to a shop. if you do it right, taking the intake manifold off can be done first time in like 3 or 4 hours. you musth ave good set of tools, and a torque wrench for the IM [instake manfiold] bolts which by the way are internal hex [careful not strip 'em!, if so, replace them , cause next time, you might not be able to get it out if it strips worse].
nothings changed, still all these 1 post- often people with spanish names-- posting questions that are clearly all over the site and could use a search big time.. kinda creates a lot of clog. most sites wouldn't go for this at all. but ban me, sure, for positive criticism and tons of contribution here. I've only helped like 5 people fix their cars through email on this site.

maramba, did you ever get this done? I have a '92 es300 that is throwing code 55 which indicates it is the Right Bank Knock Sensor. So looks like i need to change mine as well. Did you do it yourself? or have a shop do it?
