Default Check Engine light and VSC light

Hey guys.
I recently found out that my wife's 20003 ES 300 Lexus has a check engine light. It turns out to be error code p2241 which the advance auto parts sensor said it was O2 bank 2 sensor 1, Positive current, Circuit low. I am not to sure how to go about this. Is it a DYI issue or what? Any experience with it, i did some quick searches but got many different issues and answers. Also how much will this run me? Is it just a fuse that's blown? Its dark out so i plan on checking the fuses tomorrow. I see that a new oxygen sensor online is gonna run me about 60 dollars. Should i look somewhere else for a better deal?

Thanks!
Saurabh

I looked up the description of the code, it reads a little confusing but it indicates a low sensor output (lean condition). So I would start by checking all vac hoses, verify that there is not vac leaks up to the airflow sensor. Also clean the airflow sensor, (they make a spray cleaner for this), and then possibly the O2 sensor.
It is not very likely that you have a blown fuse, there is one fuse and relay for all four sensors. If the fuse was blown, you should find several codes, (one for each sensor).

The published diagnostic procedure calls for enriching the mixture, and monitoring the output, but I am assuming that you do not have access to a scanner. If you do have access, I can send you the procedure if you like.

Well i took the car to a local mechanic and he told me that the sensor had to be replaced. He didnt check any vac hoses or anything. But he did say it was a common problem. He told me that i need to get an air to fuel ratio sensor, not a regular oxygen sesnor because this is California emissions or something.

That is the o2 sensor i found. But i cannot seem to find a air fuel ratio sensor for the year ES that i have, which is 2003. If i search for camery 2003 will that work?

Thanks!

Here is the AF sensor i found for my year. I am not sure if its the right one so can someone let me know before i order it.
The error code said o2 BANK 2 Sensor 1.
So should i order the oxygen sensor, or do with what the mechanic said and get the AF sensor?

So the mechanic did not look at anything else? You did not mention what your mileage is, but assuming that it has average for a 6 year old car I would have to disagree with your mechanic it is not common for the sensors to fail that soon. You may want to consider having him install the sensor, that way if it does not fix the problem you have someone to bring it back to. If you replace it yourself and it does not fix the problem it will be all your problem.
