Performance Mods
Hey everyone, I'm not really big on mechanics and I don't really know too much about engine performance and stuff like that, I was just curious, what are some attainable performance mods for the ES300 (92-96)? And by attainable I mean actually findable, not a myth...
Basically I'm just trying to see what my options are to make my car faster.

Now this is all stuff I have not done, but you can get.. intake, air filters, oil filters, exhaust, computer chip reprogamming, advance timing, maybe a trd supercharger modded for an es.

Speaking about mods, I was thinking about getting the bottom of my ES painted to match the top. I saw a ES on here awhile ago that had that done, I think it looked great. Any input?

That's the car I was talking about. That's a nice ES, man. I know you stated you didn't know how much that paint job cost you, but do you have even the remotest idea? Did you do anything else to it (aside from removing door handles)? I plan on putting alot of money into my car, and I was curious as to what I could do.

for entry level performance modification, you could add intake, exhausts (you can use the universal ones if nobody makes it for ES300), and APEX S-AFC.
Don't go with just intake filter. It only addes 1~2 hp. Not worth the money IMO.
You can add a radiator cap to lower the temp and also look good at your engine bay.

It really sucks that there are not to many mods for use to do, but I guess that you could make your own cold air intake like some people, or modify a different one. There is still not much else to do though.

You can buy a real intake for our ES300's from RS Akimoto. It comes in all kinds of colors. I have the RS Akimoto Vacuum Hose Driveway kit in yellow too and it even matches my Optima Yellow Top. I will post pics later I guess. I wish I could spare $225 for it right now. Here is the link http://www.toysport.com/AKIMOTO.htm
You can get it from everywhere though. Just search for "akimoto lexus intake" in google.com
