Are you asking because something is wrong or not running right?

The only things here are screwing in the clamps tight and making sure the hose is on (with a clamp on the hose which is on a metal nipple hanging out of the tube). Finally, the MAF needs to be screwed in.

I don't see anything above that makes me think otherwise.

I actually like your way better where the tube joins the rest of the intake assembly because it has a flat gasket as opposed to the accordion-style gasket you see in the second picture. It doesn't matter at all where the hose/nipple is aligned.

I agree with Lexmex, your way looks cleaner with you using the supplied flat gasket as opposed to the OEM accordian. Looking good bro.

It's doable, just a matter of how willing you are to do it. A local friend of a friend 'backyard mechanic', did the swap.

He took a Camry and a 2ES and swapped motor, tranny, wiring, etc over in 10 hours of working time over two days. It runs as it was supposed to run [the 2ES].

I am sure the 3ES is no different, just have to source a 5sp trans equipped camry or JDM motor, etc while you are at it to do so.

It wouldn't be easy but as is with everything else, it is doable.

pretty sweet system you got there, I've been looking all over for an intake system for my car, 96 es300. I can't find anything. I was thinking about getting a MAF adapter but i'm having a hard time locating those.
