Hi, Everyone~
I just bought a '99 ES300 yesterday and joined here just now.
Since the interior of the used car was not in a 'clean' condition,
(stained carpet and upholstery, dusts all over, crumbs in all narrow gaps...)
I'm thinking of taking the interior parts apart, clean each parts and reassemble them back into original places.
I believe I'll end up spending most of the time taking the seats out to clean the whole carpet, including the ceiling, and disassembleing and cleaning the center console. (from ashtray to armrest)
I was able to get some ideas on cleaning gears and detergents, but haven't found yet how to disassemble those parts.
These forums here are with full of useful information but it's just hard to search through.
May be I've been searching through wrong categories...
Or may be I just don't know how to find them...
Can anyone help me to find the right threads?
Thank you.
Daniel

Personally i would take out the seats and try my best at other things as they sit.
I can tell you from experience the pieces are either: a ***** to get out, or simply very fragile and you will break stuff. The worst part of it all was the little things. However that is probably in due part with Lexus being super quiet so i guess the way they assemble it in the first place has to do with ride quality.
But by all means go ahead!

ive taken the entire interior of my car out and replaced/ rewrapped almost everything. its not hard at all. the seats have 4 bolts holding them in (14mm) to remove the center console, there are to bolts inside the lower compartment under a small piece or carpet( the thing around the 12v outlet) then use a small flathead, or i just use my key to pry up the shifters trim. under that you will see 2 small phillips screw near the end of it toward the center console. unscrew them and its out ( remember to unplug the 12v outlet )
if you need help with anything else just ask, ive taken my car apart so many times i can do it in minutes, lol.

Thank you all so much for the advices.
I gueses I'll just have to start taking apart whatever is possible.
Then ask here again whenever I hit a deadend.
I see two screws on each side of the center console below the armrest.
May be I'll start from there...
