Here is a couple pictures, I have found one other sensor with indications of a 4th. I have not yet found where the coolant temp sensor for the HVAC control. My quess is that it is there somewhere. I'll look some more. Alldata is not very easy to use, I have been using it for years and still have problems finding what I need.

cool but i can't read it LOL

but i see the spot, in the second pic, but the first one I can't find E3. but anyway, point taken. that part of the engine is so crowded with vaccum and electrical lines I get foggy minded. im going to go find that that thing now. doing the head gasket that was actually one of the more frustration things because once you put it together .... the most frusturating part was trying to clean the head and block and then make sure nothing got on surfaces before putting them together again. digress

If you download, you can magnify the picture. I am trying to figure out a better way of converting the pictures from the manual. These pictures would be a good help if people could read them a little better.

Praise you george jet...
4 frikkin temp sensors...
Looks like I may owe shucks.com an apology. I figured $13 was cheap and that it would go bad eventually so I tried to replace it.

Attached images get resized, you can to link to them or imbed them using the insert image button.

I just remembered: my headlights go dim when I push the brakes, even at high RPMs. What could that be.

I remembered seeing that picture that goerge jet has. So, i opened up my FSM and browsed through it and found the pages. Notice the exact terms being use in these two different pages in the FSM.
Here are my screenshot of it which is much more readable:

page 28
ENGINE COOLANT TEMP. SENSOR [EFI WATER TEMP. SENSOR]

ENGINE COOLANT TEMP. SENSOR [WATER TEMP. SENSOR (FOR COOLING FAN)]

Page 29
WATER TEMP SENDER

So, it would appear that george jet was correct in saying--
the coolant temp sensor that the main ECU [ the one that controls the fuel injectors and timing ] uses is located on coolant/water bypass outlet pipe on the driver's side part of the engine which is near the starter.

for further information on diagnosing the sensor click these three pages from the FSM:

I may be having starting issue. I was reading through, but did not see something similar to my issue. Not certain on how to explain, but here it goes. About 2 weeks ago is when this all started. No particular time in a day, but it happens spordically. When attempting to start, it turn off as if it was out of gas, tank is full. I would repeat this process between 3-5 times until it start, giving a nudge on the gas pedal.

12.2 v displays from my multimeter before start-up, after start-up 13.8v

This is how far I got for troubleshooting..Any other advice? It would greatly appreciated.
