Oem calipers
Currently for Celeste, i am looking to replace the calipers front and rear... now i am looking into getting them from RockAuto, @BECK/ARNLEY or @Raybestos, but i wanted to know:
Are the stock OEM calipers loaded or semi-loaded? and what would u guys reccommend?

loaded means comes with pads
i rec you get the calipers locally[not loaded] in case there is aproblem that req taking them back, plus, taking back the core is easier cheaper. but new ones, sure, online - rockauto is great car part place. why replace calipers anyway? what's wrong ?
also, pads, i would go with akebono [regular/ proact]. cheapest place i know of for that is tirerack right now. online is fine in this case from the get go.

Are you looking for performance? The 94-96 ES300/Camry w/ABS front calipers are twin piston, and have about a 25% bigger pad. They are a direct bolt on when using the 94-96 caliper bracket. So if you get a loaded or semi loaded caliper, your golden.
There is also a Big Brake Kit for the rear using the 92-96 ES300 brakes (assuming the 97-01 ES300 uses the same setup as the Camry).

well reason i am deciding to do them all is because the front driver's side is normally locking up, the brake pad there wears more/faster than any of the other ones...

I would have them looked at first before buying new ones Toyota Calipers are usually rock solid and last the life the car if the car taking care of.

Locking up? Or Just wearing faster? These are two different problems. Wearing faster can be caused by hardware (caliper slide pins, etc). Locking up can be caused by brake lines. Replacing the calipers may not solve your problem.

You can get a pair of Reman Calipers for like $150.......The dealer will charge you $100 diagnostic, and liekly $150 each caliper, PLUS install. Granted, you'll get the $100 diagnostic fee back if they do the service. but it hardly seems worth the $....
I have a friend with an '03 ES300 that works at Russle Toyota and may be able to do it at a good price for you.
