Guys, I am asking for a friend who has an 02 ES300 with stock HID. It is not pointing as high as it should be and was wondering how do you adjust it higher? We both did a search and didn't find anything. I know the dealer does it but is there any other way to DIY?

Those things, if factory installed, are supposed to be self levelling. And they adjust themselves each time you start the car. There is even an indication light on the dash panel if the self-leveling system for the HID lights is defective. I think it may also throw a check engine light. At least that's how it is on my 2001 ES300.
The info on the self-leveling functionality for the HID's is in the owner's manual.

Reflector Style HID's do not have auto leveling. That is what cam on the 02 ES.
To adjust your Beams, there are silver circular ***** behind the headlights. I usually use my fingers but you can wedge a screw driver through the slot and slowly turn them with that as well.
Unless you got in a wreck or something, they should be aimed correctly though.

Thanks Megafast13. Yeah, someone bumped the driver's side and it cracked the tabs so now its pointing down about 6 feet from the car instead of where it should be. We didn't notice it until we drove along an unlit street and realized we can't see.
PFB, thanks but the 02 ES does not have auto-leveling.
