Default ES330 Transmission Slipping

Hello all. I have a 2006 Lexus ES330 with about 60,000 miles on it purchased new. Recently the transmission has been giving me problems. When it starts in the morning the car requires a lot of revs to back it out of the parking space and when you put it in drive and press the gas it does nothing and then all of a sudden it engages...hard!! The shifty is jerky until the car is run for a while and then it becomes somewhat normal. The trouble codes in the computer are torque converter out of range and also solenoid B (I think). While I know the tranny may be gone...will changing the fluid and filter buy me some more time?

Go to Lexus. SOMETIMES they will honor it if it;s JUST past. Espetially if the issue started before it. Other times they will split the cost for a repair (sometimes you have to talk to Toyota/Lexus corprate).

I may just do that. Although I am looking online and I think that the warranty may actually be to 70k. I have to check the paperwork.

^ I saw that too. I;m not sure if it were the same in 2006. It should say it in the owners manual "supliments". A seperate booklet that would have been int he glovebox with the owners manual. You CAN also just call the dealer int he morning and ask if you canlt find it.

changing the fluiod and filter will not buy you more time. it may solve the problem that the codes and symptoms ellude to.

you should follow the proper procedure checking transmission fluid level. check the condition.

I agree with the others. Take the vehicle in. Don't change the fluid and filter at this time as it will do nothing. If it were me with an 06 ES having that kind of trouble, I would make an appointment immediately.
