96ES300, Valve Body Assembly Gasket? I'm Lost
so i have a mechanic replacing my Shift Control Solenoid, becuase the computer keeps throwing me a cel light for the shift solenoid E. I purchased the Shift Control Solenoid (which was like 250) and he tells me ima need the Valve Body Assembly Gasket becuase it was "ripped" and it could be effecting the solenoid.
Anybody have any idea where i can get this part? a locals parts store said they dont sell no "internal" parts.
I also am replacing the transmission filter. just replaced the 2 o2 sensors, and the coolant temperature sensor, timing belt, and water pump.
*sighs* headaches, anybody got any info on the valve body assembly gasket, would greatly appreciate it...
peace,
poizun

You'll probably have to call Toyota about that part. I also have the same CEL code regarding my transmission shift solenoid E malfunctioning. You paid $250 for the part? I thought it would be about $100. Did you purchase two solenoids or one? Are they sold in pairs?

the valve body gasket is available from a tranny supply house... where the pros get theirs... or from the stealer... as for the solenoids try the same source should be a lot les $$$ there.... good luck.... hope your wrench knows what he's doing inside the box....
