Default Lexus Warranty Claim

I own a 2006 Lexus ES330 with 62,000 miles. The transmission failed and the dealership said it was due to an obstruction in a line to the transmission. They said the line was damaged like it was hit. The factory warranty on the drivetrain expires at 70,000 but Lexus doesnt want to cover it since they claim the line was hit. It was not hit and I cant imagine a design so bad that a line would be placed anywhere that it can be hit by debris. What recourse do I have? Suggestions?

Default tough situation

I would call lexus customer service and explain to them the situation. See if you can have them look into it. I would also go to another stealership and see if they give you the same problem / puch back.

Let us know how you make out.

If all else fails with your warranty claim, you can contact your Insurance company, and claim it as an accident. Have your dealer attest in writing that in his opinion you must have hit something.

I had a similar problem last year with my Mercedes, I went over something and tore open my Oil Pan, Radiator, and an oil coolant hose. My Insurance covered the complete repair, including 1 Month of car rental while waiting for parts to arrive from Germany.

I would definitely contact Lexus customer service as well as get a second opinion. I would like to know what and where the line was damaged.

Thanks all. Will contact customer service and then the insurance company if that fails. I would like to know what line was damaged as well. I hope to go talk to the dealer tomorrow.
