More to the point, just because you can reach the top end of your gearing on a Dyno doesn't mean you can do it in real life. There's no wind resistance on the dyno. Also, it appears that these guys just put it on a lift and did it with the car hanging in the air. That's one of the most retarded things I've ever heard.

That's not entirely accurate. I had the garage door open in front of the car just in case,and the wind was blowing in causing resistance.

I agree, crazy and not smart. Even if ES's were "race cars", which they are far from, why would you do this on a hoist?

Wait...can someone explain the difference?
Hoist = wheels in air....
Dyno = drive wheels on rollers...

Have you ever heard of a car falling off a dyno? No because dynos are designed for that type of stuff. More than one car has fallen off a 2 post lift. Dynos are designed to test cars. Two post lifts are designed to repair cars, not for this type of abuse. Dangerous would be a understatement of this type of stunt. I could only imagine the look on a insurance adjusters face if they had to explain this one.

fastest 4 dr car avail when my car came out did the 1/4 in 14 sec. my car does it in 15.6. I dont get why you say its slow. i would say its good, not slow, not super fast; relative to cars in its class, it's fast. by fast and slow im referring to degree of acceleration/quickness.

1st its not the 90's anymore so its not fast these days. 2nd belive it or not it takes alot to get from 16sec to 14sec in a 1/4 mile time. 3rd where is the time slip that u did 15.6 cuz from the factory it doesn't do that it does 16.6 and that with a pro driver and perfect track conitions and just cuz u have a stick does make it faster sometimes its slower cuz driver error and quicker shifts. As far as acceleration 8.7 sec to get to 60mph is not good. Im not bashing the car I love these car, but I use it for what it is made for to just chill and have a good ride not speed. If I want that I take my bike out.

Also a good point I forgot to put down and this the weight of the car is not being pulled.( they calculate the weight but it is still not 100% accurate)

LOL ,That is not wind resistance the car has to be moving.

He is right, E34 525i did 1/4 in 15.9 sec (automatic). So, it's not slow for that time... but it's still a camry though.

Haha this thread is so funny. The ES300....fast.....lol.

Here, I'll say it, the ES300 is slow. Its a great car to cruise around town in, its very easy to drive, and looks great, but fast? or even quick?

As for your car being on the lift during all this is just stupid (I didn't even watch the video) come on man, really? Thats just asking for it.
