Is is possible to prevent the car from automatically locking whenever the ignition is turned off and I've walked away? I understand this is a safety feature, but sometimes it's just easier when I'm at home and don't necessarily need it locked in my garage...thanks!

Yes, I've never liked my cars to lock when I'm not in them. I have no problem (in fact prefer it) locking when I drive away but I hate it when it just locks when it's sitting there. Would love to disable this on my 05 as well.

I didn't know my car does this. I'll have to try it out. Does it have a way of preventing the key from being locked in the car?

your dealer has the ability to customize the auto locking features on your ES. You have a few different options for how the auto lock/unlock works.
