Wow, thats actually a pretty good drawing, lol.

And yeah, as llcoolpass said, they are dealer only hoses. You CAN sometimes find a place to make them. but I'd have no idea where to look for that. And unfortunatley, the hoses are not cheap.

When you figure out which hose you need, get the part # and order it either online, or at a disconnt Lexus/Toyota dealer to save some $.

I believe the hoses I need are the pressure line hoses that come out of the PS pump and go to the PS gear and the hydraulic fan. They run together up & behind the engine, so I cleaned everything up (tire off, sprayed down with simple green and hosed off) and then stuck some aluminum foil between the hoses to control flow of the leak(s). Found the hose going to the PS gear is leaking like a sive when the wheel is cranked and the hose going to the hydraulic fan is getting wet at the rubber hose crimp. I wasn't sure if the PS gear hose was just simply leaking on the fan hose, and also wanted to see if the pump needed replacing. Looks like just the 2/3 hoses - I say 2/3 because the one from the pump to the PS gear is actually 2 parts: the hard line from the gear to the next rubber junction is a separate piece. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun to replace just because of how they are routed...

I actually found some of these hoses are available at Autozone. Some may scoff citing quality concerns, but they have lifetime warranties and I've used them before on other vehicles. They're actually very reasonable in price too: pump to hard line from gear is $46, hard line to gear is $36, and pump to fan motor is $51. They also have the hose from the gear back to the reservior for $33. I haven't been able to find the rubber hoses from the reservior to the pump and the short ones from the reservior to the return hard lines thru Autozone/Kragen/etc.

Another Q: is there a source for getting part #'s for our vehicles?

Nice Diagram. I also have a 96 ES300 with a steering pump fed fan. It was a PITA diagnosing why my fan wasnt cooling the engine enough. Ended up being the solenoid on the power steering pump.

I would not skimp on the hose that you need. Buy factory used or new. It will make installation much easier too. This is an important hose to have since it helps cool your engine on those hot CA summers.

www.rockauto.com is a good place to get parts. They have alot of OEM parts/manufacturers at reasonable prices.

Ive had a bad PS leak for years [yeah i know] and am about to tackle it so I can jack up the car and see where its coming from.

Wow, thanks mooseboy84, that's a great parts link. Just looked up the hoses I got and not only are they cheaper than autozone, they're Gates/ACDelco hoses too!

Just wanted to add an update (hopefully conclusion of the issue) to the thread. I did indeed receive the hoses from Autozone. Checked them out and they looked to be the correct parts/length/etc... I was going to replace myself, but decided to get a couple quotes. Most places wouldn't take the job with user supplied parts, but a smaller place didn't hesitate. He checked out the hoses and under the hood, looked up book time, told me book time was $150, but he'd do it for $100(!). So, I jumped on that and it was done in a day. He did say book time is wrong and one hose took a couple hours - I did give him more than the quote as I didn't want him to eat it. Been driving around for a couple days now and no leaks whatsoever. BTW, the autozone hoses looked identical to the oem hoses - same fittings, shrouds, etc. and came complete with new washers.

mtnman82, where do you live in CA? My PS has been leaking since I got the car in 06 [lol] and I am getting ready to tackle it finally. I recall though, Kragen or Autozone was trying to charge me like $150 for the high pressure hose a few years ago, so thats why the whole rebuild was put on the back burner and I never got around to it.

Im getting ready to do a major timing belt/tuneup for the car, so I might as well try to fix this while im down working around there.

You're link to rockauto has slightly better prices I believe (but I would have paid the little extra for the Gates or Delco hoses). Good luck with it!

just an update... I had the guys down at driftmotion make me a custom high pressure hose for $90 out the door. If you have your old hose, they will need you to send it to them, so they can use the fittings for the banjo and the power steering pump for the new hose. Love it. Install this weekend so I will let you know how it goes. Pics are of the old hose I took out, and the new custom hose that was made. Lexus wanted $515 for this same part
