I just brought a 1998 Lexus ES 300 for 3500 with 188000 miles, but it runs great so far I had the car like 3 days. I am in love with it. I had and still have the Toyota Corolla, I had it for the last 6 years with no issues what so ever, but I just needed something different with a little more power.
I must say that this is the best used car for the money. I am happy with the features that the ES 300 has to offer. Its a 12 year old car but I love it anyway.
I want to put more money into it. The LCD on the radio doesn't work. I am still learning about all the features and how to use them.
I also want to put HID lights on it. Does any one know how much it cost, and what has to be done to get HID lights on the ES 300.
I was also thinking about adding and after market indash GPS.
Any input you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.
One last question, the AC doesn't seem to be working. I read in the manual that the AC wont work if its less than 32 degrees outside. is this true?
I am about to take it on a long drive this weekend to NYC. My first Road trip with this car.

Hi, and Welcome !
I own two ES300's myself.
I'm not much of a DIY fella, but with this forums help I was able to do some RADIO/LCD work here. Regarding replacing the LCD here's a thread that might help you.

Its a very well done thread.
ps... if your Radio is a Pioneer VS NAK, PM me, I have a Pioneer available with a fading, but functional LCD, real cheap. If not the LCD can be replaced for $100 assuming you can't find a functional LCD on a used system on salvage.
