2001 Lexus ES 300
I just had a question. My friend is telling me that the sound system (sterio/cd/radio) is made by the brand Bose. I find that hard to believe because Bose is a very good and expensive equipment to have in your car without actually purchasing it.
I have seen Bose system's in Acura's when you first buy it. But i didn't think it was the same for Lexus.
Can anyone confirm this? Thanks so much.

The stock system in the ES is made by Pioneer. There was an option to upgrade to Nakamichi in the '90s. Now the optional audio upgrade is ML (Mark Levinson).
But for what it's worth, Bose is greatly over-rated and over-priced, IMHO.

Bose come in Infiniti and Audi as well....if anyone cared.
I liked my Bose system in both my Infiniti G35 and Audi A6 WAY better than the Nakamichi in the ES. But thats not saying much either...

I think our ES has the regular sound system and it is really good. But the Mark Levinson is even better in our GX.
Yes some Acuras have Bose but mine doesn't. The LS does but mine is a L.

I agree. Not saying Bose is inferior, however, it is very overated, not just in car audio but home audio as well. They spend a significant amount of money marketing themselves to make the consumer think they are the best.
