rear suspension creaking
Hey fellas,
recently, my rear suspension has started to creak whenever it's flexed. For example, if I go over a speed bump - when the rear wheels go over the bump, I hear a loud creak, almost like an un-lubricated door hinge.
I wish I had time to put the car on stands and track it down, but it's a very busy month for me, so I don't have time. I was trying to think of what it might be, but all I could think of was maybe a really, really worn upper strut mount, or something like that. Does anyone else have any more insight into this?

on the car you have ??? its almost always[like 99%] either or both: strut mounts and/or stabilizer bar bushing and links. but check your struts for condition and function, you may be better served donig the strut mounts and the struts and the various rubbers for the coils.
also, always do both L and R of the car at the same time, F and R are not as necessary to be done at same time when it comes to suspension and brakes.

grease your sway bar bushings. i had the same creak, greased the bushings with super lube and the sound was gone. do the fronts while you're at it. 30 min job at most. good luck!

Oh trust me, they're toast. They're original to the car, and they've been through 10 years of Texas heat and 130k miles. The car flops around like you wouldn't believe. I plan on doing a complete suspension overhaul in about two months, but I was hoping to quiet down the current stuff in the mean time.

here it is. you can get it at most hardware stores.

you do have to take the bushings off to lube properly but it's not a tough job. just take off the wheels, jack up the car and you will see how to get to them. just a couple of screws.
