Default Spark Plugs?????

Hey I want to replace my spark plugs ,I took them out the other day and I saw they were double tipped platinum. The owners manual says DENSO or NGK. Which ones are better? NGK's are more expensive and I can't find them in auto stores and I dont want to pay like 10 bucks for them/ ALSO what about the plugs with 3 or 4 prongs instead od 2???? will that screw anything up???? 97 ES3

i just went to firestone and they changed them. i do know they were platinum tip with the 4 prongs by bosh or something like that. they were hecka expensive, but leave it to firestone to overcharge on parts and labor.

on another note, i notice no difference with the changed spark plugs.

I want to change to 4 prong, but I'm kinda scared since the factory plugs are only 2 prongs. Also I hear that NGK are better than BOSCH

If you want some badass plugs, get some Denso Iridiums...

Let us know how long it takes you to change them -- it looks like its tough to get to the back 3.

Are the NGK Iridium IX's any better or worse than the Denso Iridiums? Is there a noticeable difference in performance or gas mileage with the Iridium plugs? I'd rather not drop $60 for a set of plugs if it's not gonna make a difference.
