Wood trim....
Someone settle this for me please... Which models have real wood and which ones are fake? My understanding is that the steering wheels are real and the rest is fake wood.... Can someone confirm or deny this please?

On my 1994 the wood console where the shifter is, is real wood. I was surprised when I removed it and seen it years ago.

Getting a bit off topic... but I believe the only non leather part of the seat on my 97' is a portion of the rear of the front seats . The thing that always bothered me was the fake leather on the doors looks so awful.... I noticed the leather quality actually got worse with later generations looking at an 02'. I was rather disappointed (though I preferred the interior as a whole). Leather looked and felt cheap. Perhaps there was a premium option? The added wood was nice.

The back portion where the pockets are of the front seats, are the ones with the fake stuff. And if i recall, the armrest 'feels' like fake leather, all the other stuff has the right texture whereas the armrest doesn't. And of course the low portion of the rear bench is a piece of vinyl.
I dunno about the later gens. Personally I would never get one, they aren't the nicest looking things, kind of a UFO, an IS300 would have been a nicer choice instead. I won't comment since i don't own one, but i know that they don't do much for me.

yeah I think the armrest is real leather just by how it wears though I know what you mean it doesn't feel great. The rear bench I'm not sure what exactly you mean by the lower portion but I believe its all leather. Maybe your referring to the middle seat area? I still believe that's leather. I'm not fond of the newer exterior styling either but I like the interior for the most part.

I think perhaps the leather in the 3rd Gen ES is of a different grade, type or finishing than other cars but is still nonetheless real. I know that the leather in each of our cars feels different than the others, both now and when it was new. They all have a slightly different texture and have worn differently as well.

The one thing I wish the 07 ES350 had were the leather inserts in the doors, like they have in my 99 ES300. It adds a certain feel to the interior and looks great with the wood trim. The doors feel kind of bare on the 350 without it.

350 definitely went away from the luxo feel and went sport. I like the wood across the dash in my 06. for that matter I like the interior of my 06 about fifty times as much as the 07.

I agree, the interior of the 02-06 ES's look and feel so much more luxurious. Although I'm not a fan of the exterior, the interior is amazing.
The 2010 ES350 did improve on the interior a bit, with more wood trim and some chrome accents, but it's still missing the luxurious feel.
