Default 1996 ES 300 Deep dish look

Greetings,

Can you tell me if its possible to put a staggered fitting on a 1996 Lexus ES 300 with TSW products? I am interested in TSW Zolder silver rimshttp://www.tswalloywheels.com/alloy_wheels_zolder.php. I really like the deep dish look and would like to acheive this in a 17 inch wheel. Could you please suggest rim and tire sizes for this look? I do not want to modify the vehicle in any way and will tolerate no rubbing but want as deep as possible. As it stands right now, I have 4 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport 225 50 17s on order elsewhere but can cancel. Stock size is 205 65 15.

Thanks for your time

hi bro

We all love to have the deep dish look and swat stand... how ever to achieve it will cost lots of time/$$$ and headaches.

If your sticking with 17" .. your options are limitted .. even 18" are hard to get designs with the deep dish without rubbing.

How far are you willing to go $$$wise?

If you are really keen, do some research on here and check posts by Smitty and Charley214.... them two are the gurus in these areas.

Goodluck and remember to post pix b4-during-after your mods.

don't bother.

17" rims & deep dish = do not work.

Especially on an ES300

If it was a drift car/other with big arches, then yes. But the ES300 is rather limited.

Now the poster above me is not quite right, there are things you can do. Concave wheels will have lip and sometimes they make the design as you posted in your link that they have some dish for a less wider wheel.

I had 1" lips on 18" on my car, and it looked great, but like i said 17" will look like ****.

If you're in AB, why not check out your local JDM shops for some nice rims? They're are tonnes out there for some reason, i see quite a bit of members on this forum coming from Alberta.

And with JDM wheels you would be able to get proper lip wheels and staggered offsets/rims

The ES is FWD and deep dish is not for the car. You can't run wicked offsets and without serious fender/suspension work its just going to rub.

perhaps 'deep dish' was the wrong set of words OP chose in this case.

1-1.5" on the rims he posted from TSW is ver conservative and comes with many 18" rims out of the factory like that. Like i said, i has 1.5" [IIRC] of lip on my old 18s, as they were a mesh style rim.

And you are spot on with the offsets as well, since most wicked looking setups are pulled off on about all the models except the ES300! lol

Your correct...and maybe deep dish is exagerating a bit. Let me break this down a bit more here. Will the TSW wheel I linked to work under stock fenders? Going 18 inches is not out of the question, I just felt 18s were too much rim....Im kind of old school and dont really like the all rim and sliver of tire look.

These pics are with +1 fitting 215 55 16s. They are beat to crap now and have corroded beyond niceness. So Im going to put straight summers on now and upgrade the rims.

If I went to a 18 x 8 rim....Im thinking 235 45 18s with the above mentioned rims. I think that lip adds to the deepness and wide look which is what I want.

^^ 235/45/18 are too big!

225/40/18 is ideal or if you must 225/45/18!

With 18's 225/40/18 seemed to work for me. Poor offset caused very very very slight rubbing in the rear on big dips, but other than that it fit fine.
