Super quiet, super comfy, [surprisingly] sticky. Its all about the comfort that is why i went with these.
My old man took the car for a cruise, liked them so much, he is gonna order some for his RX330.
Perhaps its a good tire since its an old Continental design. They IIRC, implemented those tire patterns into certain lineups after they bought stakes in General Tire, and have been using them since.
Mind you these are summer oriented tires, which i presume you will have a set of dedicated winter tires?
In either case, i am very similar as yourself, winter half the year, summer the other half.

What you really need to give is your budget. What's the weather like where you're going to be driving? Lots of rain? Dry?

With that said, a larger wheel/smaller tire, will make it a little more 'noticeable' but not by much. I found the ride to still be very comfortable...
But i sold those wheels and tried out 17", and they seem identical to stock setups in terms of quality IMO.

depends on a lot of factors, including what your wheels are made out of. Cheaper wheels are generally made out of cheap or contaminated alloys, which may be easily bent or cracked.

Jeeze, that IS bad. I vaguely remember my dad bending one of my Coach wheels when he was driving it one day on a moderate pot hole. Still held air, but had an annoying vibration - and as a perfectionist, I can't stand those little vibrations and rattles.
