Default Misfires are spreading like the PLAGUE! + Cylinder numbering

Here's the deal:

1) Am I numbering the cylinders wrong? I'm doing it like this:

passenger..............driver

4.............5.............6

1.............2.............3

Front of the car
EDIT: a search revealed that the front bank is 2,4,6. That helps a lot. I'll go check that out and report back...but any advice you might have is still appreciated in the mean time.

That's the orientation I'm going to use in my description - if it's wrong, please let me know - that could be the reason why everything's going bonkers.

2) Randomly while driving last week, I developed a misfire. Used my code reader to determine it was in cylinder 4. Bought a new coil and spark plug, because even if it doesn't turn out to be a bad coil, I like having spares. I Tested the NEW coil on cylinder 1, worked fine (observed spark). I then tested the new coil on cylinder 4, and did not observe or hear a spark. My next thought is maybe a relay - but the owner's manual is pretty vague about what goes to what. Hopefully not the ECU....

I didn't smell any gas in cylinder 4 after running the engine (with the misfire) for about 30 seconds - but I'm not aware if the computer cuts fuel to cylinders with misfires or not.

Then all of the sudden, I re-tested for codes and now it's P0300 - multiple misfires. Specifically, in cylinders 4 AND 2. Unless my cylinder numbering is wrong, I didn't touch cylinder 2 at all. Any more info I can provide? I need to figure this out quick - I need to drive home on Friday!

Yes, it's wrong. Here is the correct configuration:

passenger..............driver

1............3............5 (Bank 1)

2............4............6 (Bank 2)

Front of the car

Thanks for the response. That made it nice and easy, all of my bad coils were on the front!

I guess another coil blew in the testing process - picked up another coil, popped it in, problem solved. Good to go! Whole thing was fixed for $140, the dealer wanted that just to diagnose the problem (even though i told them what it was)
