Default Battery in the key??

I've tried to open my '93 ES300 key to change the battery but after removing the small screw, I was not able to dimantle it easily and I don't want to break a small tab in it ....

Does anyone has experience with this?

Thanks

yeah, i saw some guy take it apart once. when he unscrewed it, he had to open it up, and the guy had already broken his key. so when the lexus guy took it apart, he just popped it open, just how it looks. the lexus dealer did it for free

Once you get it off the first time, it becomes simple to do in the future because you'll see where the tab is that holds the two pieces in place before you put the screw in.

The tab's near where the hole for the keyring is.
