In a recently purchased 2002 ES300, I had installed a single 12" sub (Kicker Comp VR) with a 300W amp (Fosgate Punch 300s). I'm quite happy with its performance, but whenever I turn off the stereo (via the head unit) with the ignition still on, I get a horrible feedback from the sub.
I've taken it back, only to have been told that there is nothing they can do about it. I've since installed an AudioLink Powerlink II converter, but this decreased the sub's output significantly (even with the levels cranked all the way up) and didn't eliminate the feedback problem. I've taken the car to several local shops, only to find that they were not able to assist.
Has anyone out there experienced anything similar to this? Any ideas on how I can eliminate this problem? I've got 30 days to return the current set-up, so I am also willing to have it ripped out and reinstalled at another shop if they guarantee the elimination of this problem.
Please help!! Thanks in advance for any assistance that can be provided!!!

yep, i get the same feedback, used to***. youneed to have a switch installed, for like 5$ that will allow you to turn your amp on and off. so that, when you are not listening to the radio, your elictrical feedback will not be bouncing around in the trunk. because our trunks are so insulated, the feedback is easily picked up, you will notice, that if your trunk is open and the radio is off, it will not make the subs move. just get a toggle switch for the amp, mine is under my dash next to where your emergency brake is

I have the same problem when I use my remote start. When I remote start it my car produces a loud feedback pulse through my subs. When I take my faceplate off and start the car it does not do this, so I guess you are right about the feedback through the deck.
