3rd Gen ES300 Projector Retrofit
Seeing as the OEM HID assemblies aren't very common, I'd like to consider a projector retrofit. A bit of searching around hasn't yielded much, one guy it seems half completed the work. It also seems that for retrofits the Acura TSX projectors are very popular, I found a set here for what seems like a decent price. Beyond that info I'm lost. Has anyone completed such a retrofit and is able to offer an analysis of how it is done and how difficult it is to complete. After seeing how projectors look on our '10 RX it's not difficult to understand why projectors are the creme of the crop, and if I can I'd love to have them on my 01 ES.

Benbend,
I never did it. I bought the OEM HID housings instead (see sig link) and have been very happy. If you need a better beam pattern I suggest you look into those. Having said there, there's no doubt a quality set of HID projectors such as the TSX's are better, but the amount of time and energy was more than I was able to devote to a retrofit; that was the deciding factor for me. Props to you ASG, it looks like you did a great job there, I would love to see some cutoff pics if you ever get a chance.

GoodRevs, I did NOT have HID's in it for this pic. I ghetto rigged the stock 9006 bulbs to work in the D2S (Or D4S?) housings just for testing. I made the headlights for a friend. Sadly, I made them JUST to see if I could never having done anything liek it before. And I really don;t think I will again. lol

Depends on the person, really.
I have a friend who is really good with this, he has retrofitted his own 3 cars and many others for friends/family.
He did his lancer with E55 bi-xenon's in less than 6 hours for both sides. He's pretty quick and if i end up finding a new set of headlights I'm gonna get some FX-R projectors, since the TSX projector today is considered 'average' when compared to some new cars.
