My ES300, Sigh
Well I got her in July of 09 I was in a nasty car accident and my other car was totaled so I wanted to get something cheap and quick and pray it would be reliable, So I figured why not go with a Lexus they run forever and seem to be great cars. My car has been incredible up until last week.
Last week I noticed that my car when I went to accelerate hesitated and once I pulled up to the next Red Light the car shut down and died. (In the middle of rush hour) after about 3-5 minutes it started back up and I got to my next destination thank god. The next day I went to start it up to go to the grocery store and as I pulled out of the driveway it croaked on me and after about 30 minutes it finally started back up, now when it does this it turns over fine but just wont fire up!!!!!
So I took it into my mechanic and after about a day of diagnosing it they said that my computer is fried and an open circuit relay was bad. Does anyone have any advice? They said they found a computer for $180 and they are having a hard time locating the open circuit relay, I am just waiting for their call because they say there is something else wrong just trying to locate what it is they said its all electrical, Anyone with any advice on maybe where to locate any of these electrical parts or anything would be much appreciated.

If it were my car, I'd want a second opinion from a certified Toyota technician. Take it to a Toyota dealership and have their service department diagnose the problem. Not saying you would need to have Toyota do the repairs if your mechanic works cheaper but since the ES is mechanically identical to the Toyota Camry V6, they would have the best knowledge about such issues. Shouldn't cost you anything to get them to look the car over and tell you what's wrong with it. Then take it to whomever you like to do the actual repairs.

Check ebay & double check to insure it's the correct part code. I picked up a new computer for $85 shipped (express) on ebay. Luckily, my mechanic charged me nothing to put it in.
Best of luck with your repairs!

I guess that depends which dealership you take it to. I've never been charged for diagnosing a problem at my Toyo dealership. But definitely DON'T take it to a Lexus dealer. They never do anything without charging for it!
