Hey guys!
Just followed these steps and did this on my 2001 GS430. This worked perfectly.
General FYI for all moving forward.
I paid $467 for a new Mark Levinson factory sub. My local dealer in Bedford, NH said there were about nine kicking around the country. Mine was shipped up from the south somewhere. He even said this was expensive for an old Lex but there were not many left.
Expensive? Yes but it sounds great and my car is really clean so I want to keep it that way.
Careful taking off the side trim pieces (step five in the pics above). They were tough to get out and I snapped one of the plastic holders off the back of the trim. I super glued and gorilla glued it back on, let it sit overnight, then carefully put everything back in place. Looks mint and you would never know unless I had to do this again (pray I don't).
I had another buddy help me. Took maybe 55 min start to finish with someone helping (minus the overnight gluing of course). Pretty straight forward!
Thanks again fellas!
