hey all, this is EXACTLY what the car sounds like right now after warming up..i'll be taking care of it soon...

also did a compression test, not looking too hot. apparently theres a reason the catalytic converter broke up.

^different mounting points dude

I'm sure dimension wise they are the same, but the tabs & screws were on different parts of the 00-01 bumpers...

Trust me, the fog light bulb DIY thread on here was performed on a IIRC 98 and it was completely different on my 2001 to remove and gain access to.

Found the engine problem...

^^ dont worry, when im all done this WILL be cleaned up.

So i cleared it out, put it back, engine runs smoother than my 98's also, all the CEL's and VSC/TRAC lights are out.

i am still stuck with low compression, so looks like im still doing at least piston rings.at least no crank/bearing issues!

Bro, what was that ball looking thing you drilled out, was that what was causing the rattling noise? Wow, doing a hell of a job on the black ES, good luck on reviving her bro.

its supposed to look like this, this is the material i drilled out. the one that came with the car: the walls fell apart and it fell down to the bottom and started rounding it self out. began clogging up the manifold...

thank you very much for your compliments, i am doing all that i can to make it as clean as possible. it'll be on the road soon..me and my father decided to drive it around for a bit then do the check again because we think the clog in the exhaust may have deposited excessive carbon onto the exhaust valves or something like that, so drive it for a bit then do a compression test again.
