This calls for a huge project...one that possibly requires an engine hoist or a new car...

stay tuned for 3 ES's in the driveway...

engine swaps are fun. it's like open heart surgery, with a little more "that'll do" built in.

Do i see a 00-01 ES300 ??

What's wrong with it? Are you putting your black one out of business? Or was the new acquisition a cheap 'fixer-upper' ?

In either case, will be watching this thread.

The plan is, fix em both up. sell the 98

and you guys are really good. just cause i guess i can unveil it.

Its a 2000 ES300 Platinum Edition with original everything, Black on black and factory HID's + autoleveling. Came from California. the 2nd owner of the car brought it with her over here.

no heated seats or AVS.

130K very odd noise in the motor. so basically i have 2 cars in need of heavy engine repair. However, the semester is comming to an end =)

The interior was VERY dirty before. but i took some time to clean it a bit...there were chocolate kisses everywhere and lots of crud in the leather creases. bearable now. but still not up to standard.

Dirty rims...boooooo!

and if you're wondering, YES i did clean it in the rain lol

Ummm, that is a sweet pickup!

I have seen the 00-01 engine's with VVTI on eBay 'on the cheap' pretty much a JDM motor. for <800$ shipped.

I say fix the 2000, and get rid of the other ones. Very nice looking platform... Kinda wondering about the noise you are hearing though, does it run rough?

Maybe an oil-gelling issue? Maybe sludge?

i havent touched it yet, but im pretty sure this motor is a victim of the gelling issue. theres alot of oil down the front of the block. both valve cover gaskets are prob shot. and according to the records, they've been seeping since 60k

and yes, as for a motor. im thinking maybe i'll take this one apart and see what the noise is first. probably going to be taking care of this one at the end of May...
