Default Seat belts 97es

hey guys. my drivers side seat blew up, and i need a replacement. i need to know if you can just change the part that explodes, or i need a complete new seat belt. also are the es300 and camry of the same year seatbelts the same? thanks in advance.

are you talking about the buckle? If so, I just replaced mine, got it at Lexus for $37. I doubt that they are replaceable with Toyota because of the plug.

Exploding seats belts?? Are you sure you're not driving 007's AM and not an ES300?? Never heard of exploding seat belts before 'cept in the movies. Take a look around the dash and see if there is a flame-thrower button or a machine-gun switch. Then you'll be sure you're in the wrong car...

no it was the seat belt, lol. the pretensior blows up when you get in a wreck, or in my case just tap it a little to hard.
