93, because I can't use anything lower with my engine modification.

The 2000 as per the manual says minimum 87, and that's what I use. I put in 93 a few times and I really did not see any difference.

I use 89 in my 04 ES. Tried mixing 87, 93, 87, 89 etc. Just runs better with 89. I run Mobil or BP.

I use 93 in my RX300 which has the same engine as the ES300. I'll be running 93 octane in the ES300 once I get one as well.

All of ours have always used 87 - you get no benefit from using higher octane than the engine can use -- these are not high compression engines.

Use a name brand gas withe detergents -- and you are good to go.

The 1MZ-FE engine is high compression at 10:5:1.
I personally, see better throttle response, and it runs better on 93. Not to mention, I get better mpg on 93. It's worth it to me.

To add to the poster abover, the owners manual racommends using 91, butr says 87 is also fine to use. You WILL gail a few whp on 93 over 87, but not enough to really make a difference.

In the summer my local gas station offers ethanol free 91, so I do that. Otherwise, 89.
