Default What do you mean by "Vibration"?

Do you mean "vibration in steering wheel" or "vibration in the car that your body feels"?

After getting 4 new Michelin Energy tires, I feel vibration in the steering wheel at highway speeds. I've located several threads about vibration at this forum. I want to know exactly what those people were talking about: vibration in the steering wheel or vibration in the car.

They could mean either one. However have you balanced and aligned your tires after installing them?

Have the shop that installed the tires re-balance them.

I already had Costco re-balance the 4 tires last week. Now I get vibration in the steering wheel as well as in the whole car!

likely the tires that were installed are out of round. By that I mean it's highly likely that they have excessive radial runout. IF you are taking them back to them ask them if they are using a Hunter balancer that measures "road force". Road force is a nominal measument of the force exerted by the tire under loaded condiiton. It's optimal to have this value be under 15lbs, but acceptable limits are from 16lbs-20lbs.

OP: maybe you want to link to the threads, or specific posts, that you're referencing?
