Default Creaking Trunk

Its been a problem, or mopre so an inconvienence that whenever i open and close the trunk, there is a loud creaking noise, its just sounds cheap and flimsy to me. Has anyone else had this problem and found a way to get rid of it? It is a 2001 es300

Ive sprayed about half a bottle of wd40 everywhere, and while the noise is greatly reduced, its sitll there, mabye i just need to wait a little longer to let it soak in, i was tired of my trunk sounding like somethnig off a 1980's caprice

Have someone jump in the trunk while you open/close to pinpoint where it's coming from. Then bombard it with more WD-40.

I would hit up autozone, advanced, or pepboys and get what they call "penetrading lubricant". They are in an aresole can as well but work much better. It will last much longer and work faster/better. Zep makes some. Its what I use on my doors, trunk, and what not. Works great. I actually work at a place called Foreign Traffic and we use it here on all our cars.

I have this exact problem. I had some squeaking from the driver side hinge, so I sprayed some White Lithium Grease onto every visible hinge. I eliminated the squeaking, but the trunk still creaks. It's very hard to pinpoint the problem area but it seems to be related to the torsion bars and the main two hinges that are inside the trim.
